Virginia Beach - Day 5

We kept busy on our last day. After breakfast we explored the Cape Henry lighthouse. This was an interesting experience because the lighthouse is on an active military base, Fort Story. We had to check in at the gate, Mommy and Daddy had to turn in their licenses, and then we took a shuttle to the lighthouse. We were given a map that showed us the only places we were allowed to go.

Afterwards, we ate lunch at New Realm Brewing Company (a place we tried to go to twice for dinner but it was always super busy!). Then we headed to the beach/pool for a while until our cousins arrived. This beach trip only overlapped by a day, but it was nice to see Uncle Dave, Aunt Mica, Mallory and Logan.

We all went back to The Bunker to eat and then took some cousin pictures on the beach. After we said goodnight to them, we headed back to the pool for one final night swim. We had the entire pool to ourselves!

Here are the pictures from our last full day and from breakfast before we left...
We can't pass up a photo op!

We had to walk up these steps before even getting
to the lighthouse.

That's the new lighthouse in the background. We
learned that they only open it up to the public once a year
on August 7th, which is National Lighthouse Day!

Ready to climb 191 steps!

There was even a ladder at the top!

We could see our hotel in the distance.

Back down we go!

Third time's a charm!

Hayden and Mommy built "Seaside City".

Yay for cousin time!

BeBe sent us this picture from when they were at
Virginia Beach.

We are pretty certain that's the same building in
the background.

This fun statue was on the boardwalk.

We love ice cream!

Cousin beach picture.

Family beach picture.

Hayden enjoyed having the pool to himself.

I got in for a few minutes but got too cold.

Daddy got in for a little bit.

We ended the trip with breakfast with Uncle Dave, Aunt Mica, Mallory and Logan.

Pancakes with Nutella! Yum!

Stay tuned for more Summer adventures!
