Virginia Beach - Day 3

Today we decided to drive and explore the Outer Banks. We stopped at a gas station where the Virginia/N.C. border went through the middle of it. Our first stop was The Wright Brothers National Memorial. We wanted to climb up to the top of the Bodie Island Lighthouse, but tickets were already sold out for the day when we got there. We took a few pictures and then headed out to find a place for lunch. We stopped at a bagel shop and I really enjoyed my ham and cheese sandwich.

Next up was Jockey Ridge State Park, where we climbed to the top of the sand dunes.
Daddy's main goal for this day trip was to go to Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. You can drive through it with a chance to see many wild animals including alligators and bears.
We were lucky and saw a bear within the first few minutes but then didn't see anything else. It was still really cool though! I named the bear Baloo.

Dinner plans didn't go as planned but we ended up at a really cool brewery called Wasserhund, where everything was German influenced.

Here are lots of pictures...
I am sitting in Virginia and Ayla is sitting in N.C.

Exploring the Wright Brothers Memorial.

Standing inside of the garage/plane hanger.

It was really neat to see the markers of how far they
flew on each attempt.

Ayla and Daddy are always much quicker than
Mommy and me.

The view of "the runway".

Daddy missed the lighthouse in the background.
Oops!

My delicious sandwich!

Walking to the sand dunes.

It looks like Daddy is in the middle of a desert!

That's me running down the sand dune.

Baloo the bear.

Even Baloo knew to smile for Mommy's picture. Haha!

Wasserhund had a whole bunch of German phrases
hanging above the bar.

Mommy decided to photoshop a picture of me
standing next to Baloo. Haha!

Another fun day!
