Birthday Getaway - Day 1

We headed back to Bryson City to celebrate Mommy's birthday. We got up early on Saturday and headed out because Daddy had a surprise planned...we went on the train ride this year. We rode to another town, Dillsboro, had some time to walk around, and then rode back to Bryson City.

Excited and ready to go!

We even got these cool cups to keep.

We had to wear our masks on the train. I didn't mind because
I always wear mine. Sometimes Mommy and Daddy need to
remind me to take my mask off.

Mask off for a picture.

The train ride went along the Tuckasegee River.

This is the train wreck scene from the movie, The Fugitive.

More wreckage from the movie scene.

A picture in front of the train. It had a lot of cars!

Exploring the town of Dillsboro.

Our train car.

Going through the Cowee Tunnel. Legend says it's haunted.

They turned off all of the interior lights in our car so that
we would ride through complete darkness.

View from the train.

We even got to see the North Pole, because it was still set up
from the Polar Express Train Ride.

Lots of photo ops...

This was a fun sign in town.

Ahhh! A bear!

Pictures of our cabin. There was still a Christmas tree...

We slept in the loft area this year.

View from the loft.

The loft area had two twin sized beds. It was perfect for us.

The downstairs bedroom.

The porch.

We had to walk up these steps to get to our cabin.
There were 54 steps!! There was also a path on the other side.

Mommy's birthday selfie.

Daddy got delicious Bundt cakes again (and wine for Mommy)

Excited for the hot tub!

We went to a chocolate store in Dillsboro and bought these
chocolate trains.

Relaxing and watching a movie.

We had an awesome day!
