An Unexpected Spring Break

Our Spring Break certainly didn’t go as planned. On Wednesday, April 6th, we received the very sad news that Opa had passed away. Oma called Mommy at school and we immediately left school to go to PA. The intentions were to go up on April 10th for our normal Spring Break but life had other plans. Despite the sad news, we enjoyed our time with Oma. We cried, laughed, and took pictures....Opa wouldn't have wanted it any other way......
I found Maya the Bee and Willi. I've been learning about
pollinators so I was very excited to see these.

Ayla made spaghetti for dinner one night.

I packed the most important items....some of my stuffed animal
dogs.

Gracie came over a lot! We sure loved having her over and
taking her for walks.

Ayla went to the Penguins game with Uncle Dave and
Mallory.

Mama snuggles are the best!

I got to hang out with Logan while Ayla was at the hockey
game.

We watched movies and entertained ourselves with some of
Oma's yarn.

Silly boys!

I even made a zipline for my dogs.

It was cold but we enjoyed taking some walks.

Kai and Nora came and also enjoyed Gracie's company.

Gracie sure did enjoy her walks.

The girls were great helpers in the kitchen.

The "kid's table".

Playing tic-tac-toe with fruit snacks.

This has always been my favorite place to play outside.

We made a picture collage and wrote notes for Opa.

Have you ever seen a 6 foot long hoagie?

A picture before Opa's memorial service.
We miss you!!!

Rest in Peace, Opa.
Love you always!!

First Trip to Carowinds

Yesterday we took our first trip to Carowinds. I rode two roller coasters with Daddy and went on one with Mommy. Ayla also rode some roller coasters. Afterwards we went to the Saucer for an early dinner and stopped at Smallcakes to pick up some cupcakes for dessert. Here are some pictures...
Here we are in two different states!

We all went on the tall observation tower ride.

It's always fun to see the park from this view.

Ready for my favorite coaster with the loops!

Ayla and Mommy went on the Copperhead Strike.

Wish you were here!

There were lots of photo ops while we waited in line.

Pretty view while waiting in line.

I'm finally tall enough for some new rides.

Yum!!

It was a fun Sunday!

A Quick Getaway

We took a quick trip to Raleigh for an overnight getaway. We met our friends, Nina and Hudson (and their parents, of course) and had a fun day. We explored the science museum, ate at the Raleigh Flying Saucer location, went to a chocolate shop, and enjoyed spending time together at the hotel. Here are some pictures.
I liked the dinosaur displays because I learned about them
at school.

We have also been learning about bees and pollination so
this was the perfect spot to take a picture.

It was cold and windy!

I tried Daddy's favorite sandwich at the Saucer...
The Space Club.

The chocolate shop wasn't quite what we had expected so
we got some ice cream (even though it was cold outside).

Movies and snacks at the hotel.

It was a fun getaway!
