When Mama is too tired to cook...

When Mama is too tired to cook......
....we go to Chick-fil-a for dinner!

Mama has been TIRED when she comes home from work. I guess that's what 23 Kindergarteners will do to you! She's been really good at cooking dinner but today she was just too tired. Dada had to do school work, so Mama, Cor-Cor, and I went to Chick-fil-a for dinner. I even ate some chicken nuggets! Afterwards, Mama let me play for a little bit and of course took some pictures....
Weee...going down the slide.

Hi, Mama!

Climbing up the steps.

Peek-a-boo!

Get me out! Get me out! Heehee!

Car!
If you look closely you can see me in the wheel.

Hi!
Yesterday Cor-Cor let me try some Sourpatch Kids. Mama took some pictures because she thought I would make a funny face. Surprisingly, I liked them!

A Little Bit of German

As promised in the earlier blog, Mama tried to get some new vdoes of me....however, I was not cooperating too much. She really wanted to get me doing my new silly laugh (I say Ha! Ha! Ha!) and these videos aren't really the best because I am not looking at the camera. You can still get the idea though that I am really starting to learn my German words too. Wouldn't you know though, that as soon as Mama stopped recording and was watching the videos on the flip camera, I was look right at her and saying the words and pointing to my nose, mouth, etc. Oh well, maybe next time I'll do a little bit better. Heehee!

Video #1 translation:
Say Oma
Say Opa
Say love you!
Say car
Say hello
Say thank you
Say please
Video #2 translation:
Ayla, where is your nose?
Where's your mouth?
Where are your ears?
Where are your eyes?
Where is your nose?
Where is your mouth?
Where is your mouth?
Give a kiss.
Give a kiss. No?
Say no, no.
Video #3 translation:
It's kindof hard to translate, but it's a song about a duck swimming in the water and it puts it's head in the water and it's tail in the air. Ms. Angie taught this song to me at daycare and I like to point my finger up in the air and say "Höh"
Woah! Dada just had to remind Mama that it's my "23 Month Old" birthday. Tsk! Tsk! Mama! Here's a little update:
Current likes: Cars, Cars, and more Cars. I love to point to them and say "Car!" and I love to play with all of Dada's Nascars. (I have even figured out that the wheels come off so Mama and Dada have to be really careful so I don't put them in my mouth) I also love to help Mama unload the dishwasher. Recently, I felt the need to help her load it, and I took all of the clean tupperware bowls out of the drawer and put them in the dishwasher. Heehee!
Current dislikes: Sleeping through the night. I've been up again lately....oopsie! I didn't like Dada's new Halloween, Hazel the Witch, at first. I've warmed up to her now though and have even tried imitating her "Ha! Ha! Ha!" laugh.
In other news: My two bottom molars are through, I am learning sign language (see previous post) and I am learning more and more German. I love giving kisses to everyone except for Mama. She has to trick me and tell me that she has a "boo-boo" on her lip and then I will give her a kiss. Speaking of boo-boos, Mama can't quite figure out if I have a splinter on my big toe or a bug bite. It's a little swollen and she won't let me touch it. If it doesn't get better, it's off to the doctor I go. I will keep everyone posted.

Crusin' with Friends

Yesterday Mama and Dada invited some friends over to come watch the Nascar race and just hang out. That meant that my friends Aubrey, Corinne, and Xavier were here to play with me. Aubrey always remembers that I have a quad, so of course that came out right away. It took us a while to figure out the whole steering thing, but we got the hang of it eventually. We also had fun on my Sit & Spin and playing with the rest of my toys.
Testing out the Sit & Spin

Beep! Beep! Here we come!

"Hold on tight, Aubrey"

Crash!

We enjoyed a tea party in Dada' s room.

I took Corinne for a spin around the house.

Next up: Cruisin' in the stroller.

Safety first: Aubrey made sure I was buckled in.

I tested out my racetrack as a seat.
It was quite comfy!

I ended the night calling all of my friends and thanking
them for a wonderful time.
*Really, Mama had no clue what I was saying....I would
babble and then start laughing randomly. She thought
it was pretty funny!
Happy Labor Day everyone. Mama and Dada are glad that they have an extra day to hang out with me. Mama is going to try and get some videos of me later on (I may or may not cooperate. Heehee).
Check back later on to see if I did not not. ;-)

Fun With Cor-Cor

Cor-Cor (otherwise known as Courtney) has been staying with us. I love having her here and hanging out with her. We've done lots of fun things and she always plays with me while Mama is making dinner. I am loving all of the extra attention!
Last weekend Cor-Cor painted my toenails to match Mama's. I had to sit very still....
Ooohh...so pretty!

Matching Mama's toes.

Dada and I snuggled last weekend and watched the
Nascar race.
Today Mama and I took Cor-Cor to Jetton Park....she had never been there! We walked around the trail and then stopped and played at the playground for a little bit.
Mama took my shoes off so that
I could walk in the sand.

"Come on, Cor-Cor, let's go see the water!"
Mama and me.
Smile!
"What? We have to leave?"

Silly face on the slide!

Peek-a-boo I went through the tunnel.
Profile picture.
After the park, we stopped at Bruster's Ice Cream. I got a free kid cone - eyes and sprinkles included! It was delicious.
Mmmm!

How cute is that ice cream cone?

I enjoyed every single bite of it!

"Do I have any ice cream on my face?"
What a fun day....and it's only Saturday. It's a long weekend this weekend so we have two more days to have fun!
Sending love and kisses to all of my family and friends!

Learning Sign Language

We all know that I LOVE Dada's I-Pad. Mama recently downloaded a new app that her friend Kathy suggested...it teaches me sign language. I love watching it and have learned most of the signs that were on the free app. I think that Mama and Dada need to buy the full version so that I can learn more words. Here are two videos of me signing. I am a little distracted because I am too busy playing on the I-pad. Heehee!

Here are also some updated pictures of me:

Watching Dada trim the hedges.

Just hanging out with Crosby.
Yes, that is my infant pacifier from the hospital...I found
it and have been using it again. Heehee!

Nakey Girl!

Snoozing in the big bed.
Note the cars on the blanket. I insisted on holding them until
I fell asleep. Cars are my new obsession!

Hmmm.....what shape is it?

I found a great spot for my shoes!

Concentrating!
This was my first full week at daycare. I had a great time and have been enjoying Ms. Angi's cooking which included a steak fajita and salmon. She also gave me a German chocolate cookie when I was there by myself. I am now the only girl at daycare so I am the "Queen Bee" and Busy Bee Daycare!
I am looking forward to spending all weekend with Mama, Dada, and Courtney!

Carousel & Rock Climbing

Summer has officially come to an end....teacher workdays started again yesterday which means that I went back to daycare. On Wednesday we went to Carowinds for one final summer hurrah (I'm sure we will still go on the weekends) and yesterday we went back to the Whitewater Center to hang out and listen to some music.

Courtney came to Carowinds on Wednesday and we also met the Otto's and the Peterman's. Colleen and Michele don't go on roller coasters so they watched me while everyone else went on one and I went to Snoopy Land with them. Mama gave the okay for me to go on a ride as long as they took some pictures. Well....bummer for her because she left the memory stick in the computer and we missed the pictures of my first carousel ride. Luckily Courtney had her camera and I-phone so we re-enacted the carousel ride. :-)
Mama and me on the carousel
Checking out Snoopy.
I wasn't so sure about him.

I liked Woodstock better.
Courtney, Woodstock, and me.
Last night I had fun at the Whitewater Center. I explored the little climbing wall and enjoyed collecting rocks and bringing them back to Dada, the Otto's, Cara and Cary.
"How do I get up here?"

"Here I go!"

"Hi, Mama!"
Mama has been receiving emails from Shutterfly for 101 Free Prints. She finally ordered some and has been updating my photo album. I enjoyed looking at the pictures and pointing to everyone and having Mama tell me who it was.
