Celebrating Birthdays - Social Distancing Style

Yesterday was Pappy’s birthday and today is Ulla’s birthday in Germany. We had to get creative with ways to celebrate....
Baking a birthday cookie cake for Pappy. I measured out all of the dry
ingredients by myself.

Hayden and Mommy worked on the butter and sugar ingredients.

Since we have been watching Star Wars, we made a Yoda craft
for Pappy.

Mommy made homemade buttercream frosting and decorated the cookie
cake.

Keeping our distance while wishing Pappy a Happy Birthday.

We dropped the goodies off on their porch.

We used the sidewalk chalk to write a birthday message.

Happy Birthday Pappy!

Celebrating Ulla, Zoom style!

It was so good to "see" everyone.

The teachers at school are putting together a slide show for the students. Mommy made these “I miss you” letters and we took some pictures...

We miss seeing our family and friends but know that it's for the best. Love you all!!!

A New “Normal”

We are beginning to get into a routine with this whole virtual learning. The one nice thing is that we have been able to spend a lot of time in the backyard. We recently cleaned the cottage some more and have been enjoying a lot of outside time.
Jovie loves to chase the water from the hose.

It's finally nice enough to wear some of my summer dresses from Addie.

Hayden and I like to play "Fairy Tale" outside in the cottage.

Reading time for Hayden.

We now have our own "work areas". This is Hayden's.

I do a lot of my work at the kitchen table.

We had a lot of fun with the Google 3D feature.

Recently Hayden's class had a "Dance Party" via Zoom. Mommy was on her own Zoom meeting so Daddy took this video. It's not the best quality, but you can see that Hayden had lots of fun...

Outside Fun, Goodbye Tall Tree and Goodbye Hair!

We have been super lucky that we have had nice weather. We have spent a lot of time outside. One of my favorite things to do is to fine "Roly Polys". Ayla and I decided to match with our outfits one day. We also got the big tree cut down recently and Daddy ordered to hair clippers from Amazon to give me a buzz cut.

I found a baby Roly Poly.

It's so tiny that you can hardly see it in Ayla's hand.

This super tall tree has been dead for a while. We always get nervous
during storms because it sways so much and is so big!

Daddy hired professionals to take it down. That counts as "social
distancing" because they are more than six feet away. That tree was tall!

We were fascinated and watched from my bedroom window.

Mommy took some videos:

These are my "before" haircut pictures....

We figured with every closed for so long, now was a good a time as
any for Daddy to give me a "buzz cut".

It's all gone!!!

It definitely needed some touch ups.

Before and after side by side.

Here is a video of Daddy cutting my hair:
