Happy Birthday, Aubrey!

Today was Aubrey's birthday party. Mama and I drove up to Statesville to celebrate. Daddy didn't join us this time because it was Oktoberfest day for him. Aubrey had a Minnie Mouse theme party and I had lots of fun. Next Saturday is my party and I can't wait to celebrate with her again! Here are some pictures from the party.
Noah, Aubrey and me.

Mmmm. Enjoying some Mickey themed snacks.

We made bracelets and decorated hats.

Happy birthday, Aubrey.

Aubrey's Pappy let me lick the icing off of the candles.
Aubrey had a Minnie Mouse ice cream cake!!!

It was so yummy!

We played a game where we had to stick bow stickers onto
a game board.

I love Aubrey!

She let me take some of her balloons home.

We had a great time playing with them!
Thanks for a great time, Aubrey (and of course her Mama and Daddy too!) See you next weekend!

26 Weeks

How far along: 26 weeks + 1 day
Total Weight gain: 21 lbs.
Maternity clothes:  Yes and it's finally getting into more comfortable temperatures so I'll get to take out some of those Fall clothes soon.
Stretch marks: Around the belly button but no news ones....still very very itchy!!!
Sleep: It's still okay but I would like one night where I don't wake up at all.
Best moment in the last week: I'm just glad today is Friday. It's been a long week! :-)
Movement: Moving pretty consistently. We are currently doing a read aloud in class and are reading "Stone Fox". He kicks me every time I read it. He either really likes it or doesn't like it at all. :-)
Gender: It's a boy!
Ayla's current sibling wish: She answered "baby sister" but it's already predetermined that she is getting a baby brother. Hee! Hee!
Ayla's current name choice when asked "What should we name the baby?": "Baby Six"....and then she continued with the numbers: 9, 8, and 2.
Food Cravings: A lot of sweets. Good thing that Michelle is coming soon and hopefully bringing some more chocolate. Hint! Hint! :-)
Belly Button in or out:  It's an outie!
What I miss: I'm going to have to go with a non-itchy belly again!
What I am looking forward to: Ayla turns 3 next week! I have my glucose test doctor's appointment that morning. Yuck! I will get to hear baby's heartbeat though because I have a check up too and I took the entire day off of work so that I can spend the rest of the day with the birthday girl!!
Weekly Wisdom: People always have comments about pregnant people's belly's....."It's so big!" "You look like you dropped already." Blah! Blah! Blah!. Take everything with a grain of salt and know that you know you're belly the best! :-)
Milestones: Baby's taste buds are very developed now. Hope he likes sweets! :-)
Baby Brain Moment of the Week: No "baby brain" story that I can think of but I have an "emotional pregnant story"....Ayla had her first visit to the ER. *See full story below*
Labor Signs: Hopefully not until the end of December!
Weekly Belly Pictures:

Just a little comparison. Both were taken at exactly the
same time....26 weeks + 1 day. Woah!!!

ER Story:
I'll spare the graphic details and give the short version. :-) Ayla has been having digestive issues for about three weeks now. After being on Miralax for a little over a week, we thought all was well again. Well, yesterday evening after straining to go, Ayla had what's called an "external rectal prolapse". I'll let you google search it if you are interested but it's kinda gross. That's when I had my first "pregnancy emotional moment". Not gonna lie, I probably would have freaked out  little even if I wasn't pregnant. We put a pull-up on Ayla and headed to the emergency room. She was fine in the car and was talking away. My second "pregnancy emotional moment" came in the ER when explaining what happened. We actually got to see the doctor pretty quickly and he was very nice. He really made an effort to talk to Ayla before he had to examine her. When he did examine  her, the problem had fixed itself. He assured us that we weren't crazy and that this really does happen. Better safe than sorry. :-) He was right on target when he asked if she was potty training and said that constipation was very common at this age. "Rectal prolapse" can also happen and he didn't seem to think that it will happen again. We were very relieved that all was okay and were glad to go home. It was very draining emotionally and I wish that I could protect Ayla from everything that can hurt her. It won't be our last scary moment but I'm hoping for no more ER trips in a long time!

Ayla wasn't too happy while at the hospital, but I think that's because of my reaction when we got there. She could sense that I was scared and I really wish I would have handled it a little better. Once the doctor had finished examining her she was ready to go home but she wasn't upset at all. This morning she did not want to take of her "bracelet" so she still has on her emergency room bracelet. I'm not going to fight that battle just yet, but I will keep it for her photo album. :-) We also had to document this with some pictures. We only took two of her at the hospital. One in the waiting room and one while waiting to be discharged. This morning when Ayla woke up she said, "I go hospital yesterday. The doctor check my bum bum." I'm glad that she wasn't too traumatized by the whole experience.
Waiting at the ER. Note that the "bracelet"
is on her ankle because it was the easiest
place to put it.

Waiting to be discharged and watching
Mickey Mouse on my phone.
Thank goodness for the Disney Jr. app.

Festival in the Park

Every year there is an arts festival at Freedom Park. There are lots of art and food vendors. We have never been for some reason but Mama made a point to go this year because one of her third graders had her art featured there this weekend. Elementary school from around Charlotte can enter art work and they display it at the festival. The weather was beautiful and we had a good time. Yes, I am wearing a Halloween shirt because Mama was cleaning out some of my old clothes yesterday and found this outfit. It's a 2T so we had to take advantage....that's not going to fit much longer. Here are some pictures from the festival.....
Mama bought a bag of Kettle corn. It's almost as big as me!

Mmm! It was very fresh! The man
just made it and put it in the bag for us.

You can see some of the art tents in the background.

Mama and I found her student's art work.

Cheese!

I wanted to feed the duckies but we didn't have anything.
I gave them just a few pieces of kettle corn.

We'll have to go back sometime with some bread.

We stopped at the big playground, but I was hot and tired
and ready to go home.
Last night the Otto's came over for a little bit. We ordered food and just hung out. Mama took this opportunity to have a little photo shoot with Nina and me. I love "Baby Nina" and let her sit on my soft pink blanket and play with all of my toys.

Sending hugs and kisses to all!!!

25 Weeks

How far along: 25 weeks
Total Weight gain: I posted 20 lbs. last week and today it was still 20....one of them is wrong and I am going to say I was last week's weight. Hee! Hee!
Maternity clothes:  Yes!
Stretch marks: Just around the belly button and the belly is getting VERY itchy. I am going to have to ask about that at my next appointment.
Sleep: Eh! It's okay, but I'm still waking up during the night.
Best moment in the last week: I would say that this picture sums in up. It was taken today:

Movement: Moving! Moving! Moving! I'm still working on that video!
Gender: It's a boy!
Ayla's current sibling wish: She's pretty consistent and seems to know it's a baby boy.
Ayla's current name choice when asked "What should we name the baby?": "Baby Boy"
Food Cravings: It's Halloween candy season....uh oh! I had some candy corn yesterday and it was delicious! I'm going to try not to by any just yet because I know that I won't stop eating it. I did buy a bag of Fall peanut butter M&Ms and it's quickly dwindling!
Belly Button in or out:  Out!
What I miss: A non-itchy belly!
What I am looking forward to: Ayla's birthday in two weeks...I can't believe she is going to be 3!!!
Milestones: Baby is now beginning to open his eyes.
Baby Brain Moment of the Week: Last week I had so many and this week I can't really think of any. I did start the Keurig again without a coffee mug to catch the coffee, but I saw it and only wasted a little bit.
Weekly wisdom: I think I somehow deleted or left this part out last week. I'm afraid I don't have much wisdom this week! :-)
Labor Signs: Hopefully not until the end of December!
Weekly Belly Pictures:

Ayla was a bit grouchy. Hee! Hee!

Here are also some pictures from last Saturday when we met the Otto's at the White Water Center:

I need to do a better job of adding some more "Ayla blogs". Hopefully I'll take lots of pictures this weekend. We are going to try and go to the Festival in the Park at Freedom Park this weekend.

24 Weeks

How far along: 24 weeks....I know! It's a miracle that I am actually posting on the right day.
Total Weight gain: 20 lbs.
Maternity clothes:  Yes!
Stretch marks: Just around the belly button.
Sleep: Eh! It's okay, but I'm still waking up during the night.
Best moment in the last week: I can't think of a particular best moment, but I have a cute story. I've been putting lotion on my ever growing belly a lot. Ayla now has to put lotion on hers too. Last night we were both putting lotion on our bellies together. : )
Movement: Moving! Moving! Moving! I am going to try and take a video of my belly moving. I got one of Ayla so fingers crossed that I can catch it this time too. Stay tuned!
Gender: It's a boy!
Ayla's current sibling wish: She's pretty consistent and seems to know it's a baby boy.
Ayla's current name choice when asked "What should we name the baby?": "Baby Boy"
Food Cravings: Nothing in particular...I'm just hungry! Hungry! Hungry!
Belly Button in or out:  It's still about halfway out.
What I miss: Being able to eat anything with sodium without swelling up! I had maybe 10 Pringle chips yesterday and afterwards I could feel my fingers and feet swelling.
What I am looking forward to: I still have to say the Fall. Cooler weather, please hurry up!
Milestones: Baby's nostrils are opening up and he can now practice "breathing".
Baby Brain Moment of the Week: Oh, where to begin.....
Story #1: I have to give you some background information. I have a light purple water bottle that I take to school. Got it? : ) This week at school I was eating lunch with my team mates in the teacher's lounge. After lunch, I went to use the adult bathroom located in the front office area. Well there is a light purple Lysol bottle in there. Don't worry, I didn't try to drink it, but I saw it out of the corner of my eye, thought it was my water bottle, and walked back into the lounge with it. My team mate, Kelly, caught it and asked why I was carrying a Lysol bottle around. Oh boy...I just thought it was my water bottle.
Story #2: While teaching my class how to fill out a graphic organizer worksheet, I was holding up the worksheet to show them. The class was giggling and I didn't know why. We were learning about the branches of government, which really isn't that exciting. : ) Oh, they were giggling because I was holding up the answer sheet! They got a few freebie answers but still had to do most of it themselves.
Story #3: I forgot my lunch in the classroom today. Well, I was convinced that it was in the staff lounge refrigerator, which is where I normally put my lunch. I didn't have anything that needed refrigerated today though so I took it to my classroom today. I really did not remember that's where it was until I was in the teacher's lounge.Labor Signs: Hopefully not until the end of December!

Best moment in the last week: Ayla felt the baby move. I was reading her night time stories and he was moving. I asked her if she wanted to feel it and she said, "Yeah!". He kicked and when I asked her if she felt it she said, "Yeah!"
Movement: He's a mover. I was sitting in a meeting at work and literally saw my belly move!

Weekly Wisdom: I've got nothing right now.

Me and my little smooch face!

Also, a little update from Ayla.....

It's been a pretty busy couple of weeks. Mama and Daddy are back at work and I've been spending my days at BeBe and Pappy's. I've been keeping busy "swimming" in my pool in their backyard and also going for bike rides on my little pink bike. Here are some pictures that Pappy sent to Mama on her phone. She can't check her phone at work often but she loves getting picture updates!
I got to go to Birkdale with Pappy and eat some ice cream.

Riding my bike.

Playing in my "pool".

Breakfast time.

Playing with Nana.
Also some pictures that Mama took over the last couple of days....
This is what happens when Mama leaves me
unattended while doing laundry and there is
lotion within my reach. Hee! Hee!
