Oma and Opa Visit

Mama got a text message on Friday from Opa asking if we wanted company. What?!? Apparently Oma had a three day weekend so they decided to get in the car and come visit us. Yay! Yay! Yay! Here are lots and lots of pictures from our super fun weekend.
The first thing Opa had to do when they got here was
read me books.

Snuggle time! Mama set up the air mattress in my room.
Opa got to sleep in my bed and Oma and I slept on
the air mattress.

Getting ready to go to breakfast.
We went to the Egg Cafe in Davidson.

Oma and me.
Cheese! Do I have any chocolate in my teeth? Hee Hee!
Check out my cool Mickey Mouse waffle.

Enjoying my water table.
Oma bought me a new sprinkler too but I wasn't too sure about
it yet.

Snack time!

We went to the playground in our neighborhood
and took some pictures with the flowers.

Oma and me.
Snuggling on the couch with Opa watching
Doc McStuffins.
Oma, Mama, and I went to Birkdale and enjoyed some ice cream.

I sampled Oma's, Mama's and mine. Yum! Yum!
Helping Oma with the dishes while Mama and Daddy
got to sleep in.

On Saturday Daddy and Pappy did the ROC race at the speedway.
Oma, Mama, and I went to watch.

Pappy, Daddy and me after the race.

We went to Pappy and BeBe's house on Sunday for a cookout.
Nana, Oma, BeBe and me.

A picture with Oma and Opa.

A picture with both sets of grandparents.
Thanks for coming to visit! I had a great weekend and miss you lots and lots already. Come back soon! :-)

21 Weeks

How far along: 21 weeks + 3 days. I'm a little bit behind since I've had to join the "real world" again and go to work. On Thursday we had open house until 7:00 and I just couldn't get it together to write the weekly blog.
Total Weight gain: Our scale is so off...it will give you a different weight each time. I'll have an accurate total when I go to the doctor's on the third.
Maternity clothes:  Yes.
Stretch marks: "Left over" ones from Ayla around the belly button and possibly a few new ones. This belly is already pretty big!
Sleep: Still pretty good although the belly is starting to get in the way.
Best moment in the last week: Surprise weekend visit from my parents. They came on Friday and will leave tomorrow morning. I took lots of pictures and a blog will be up soon!
Movement: Yes! Yes! Yes! He's a little kicker now. My mom even got to feel a slight little nudge today.
Gender: It's a boy!
Ayla's current sibling wish: Ayla still answers randomly when asked even though she knows it's a boy.
Ayla's current name choice when asked "What should we name the baby?": Ayla still says "Six" but that's not the name that we chose. ;)
Food Cravings: Nothing in particular....just eating, eating, eating. :-)
Belly Button in or out:  It's mostly out now. I honestly think it has to do with how baby is positioned.
What I miss: I'll have to write it again. Beer. Bryan bought another pumpkin beer and I tried a teeny sip and it sure tasted good! :-)
What I am looking forward to: Even though I would love to stay home all of the time, I am looking forward to meeting my new class tomorrow. Third grade, here I come!
Weekly Wisdom: Random strangers should stop making comments about pregnant people's stomaches. It's not nice to assume that I am going to have the baby next month. I'm not THAT big and quite frankly it's all belly in the front. Yes, some lady at the grocery store asked me if I was due next month and I said not until January 2nd and she seemed very shocked. Really?!?
Milestones: Baby has reached the 1 pound. Not sure where all of the other extra pounds are going. Hee Hee!
Baby Brain Moment of the Week: I've had plenty but right now I can't remember any. Oh dear!
Labor Signs: Hopefully not until the end of December!

Summer's Over

Technically summer is not over, but summer break is. Mama and Daddy go back to work tomorrow. Mama is super sad but we had a great summer. Here is a summer recap with some of our favorite pictures and things that we did....

#1 Germany - It was so great seeing all of our family and especially playing with Kai and Nora.
Cousin fun in Germany!
#2 Carowinds - We took several trips to Carowinds and I got to see my friend Aubrey a lot!
My favorite ride this summer was the swings.

I loved the pool!
#3 Snuggle time with Mama - Mama and I took a nap together almost every day and I officially moved into my big girl room. Right now I am still sleeping in the bed that used to be in the guest room but pretty soon I will have a brand new bed.
July 21st - First night in my big girl bed!

#4 Listening to lots of stories at bedtime - This tradition will continue once school starts but Mama and I have a nice routine. We snuggle together in my big girl bed and read lots of books. My current favorites are: Abigail and the Balance Beam, Baby Bear Sees Blue, Llama Llama Red Pajama and Meine Allerliebsten Kindergebete (my German prayer book). I always have Mama read them in that order too!

#5 Potty Training - Well.....this may not have been the most fun thing to do. There were definitely some tears shed (both mine and Mama's) but I am finally getting the hang of it. I can be pretty stubborn and it took some bribery to get me to go. I did get lots of little prizes out of it though and I got new baby doll toys and a super big Minnie Mouse! I also learned the "Potty Song" in the process. You can watch the video below.....just don't mind Mama's singing...Hee hee!

Check out the super big Minnie Mouse I got! We had some friends over yesterday and I had a tea party with Minnie and Aubrey. Later on Lilly came over and we played with Minnie too. This was before the power went out. Mama and Daddy had to host their party in the dark. The kids had fun though and still played with my little quad and we loved playing with flashlights. Here are some pictures from yesterday:
Cheese! Minnie, baby, and me.

Aubrey loves Minnie too!

Tea party time.

Lilly loved Minnie too.

Lilly and I went for a ride in the dark.
We are squinting because the flash was so bright!

#6 Our trip to Maryland - I had fun on the Fun Bus at Mallory's party, playing with Mallory at her house and going to Baltimore to see  the fishies in the aquarium and go to the baseball game. I still talk about the baseball game and want to go to another one.

#7 Going to the White Water Center - Since we live so close, Mama, Daddy and I went to the White Water Center a handful of times to just hang out and listen to music. Most of the time our friend the Otto's joined us and I got to see baby Nina.
We enjoyed dinner with a view.

Daddy and me.
#8 Playing with Sidney and "Kitty Cat" - They have been very patient with me this summer and will probably be very glad when they have the house to themselves again...Hee! Hee! Check out the picture of poor Sidney putting up with me as I put all of my necklaces on her.
Kisses from my Sidney.

What, Mama? I'm just putting some necklaces on Sidney.

She didn't mind.

#9 Staying home with Daddy while Mama presented at the math training. - On those days I took my nappies with Daddy. :)

#10 Snuggling in Mama and Daddy's bed in the morning and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I would still get up pretty early so I would crawl into bed with them and we would watch Mickey Mouse and snuggle. It was so nice to not have to rush in the mornings and get out of bed right away. Goodbye summertime! Now on to my new adventure....I'll be going to BeBe and Pappy's house instead of daycare this year....let's just hope that they are ready for me! Hee! Hee!

20 Weeks

How far along: Woah oh....we're half way there! (sung of course to Bon Jovi's song!). 20 weeks!!! That's hard to believe.
Total Weight gain: Well.....according to our scale 16 lbs. That just doesn't seem accurate since last week the doctor said I only gained 10 according to their scale. Our scale is truly not very dependable so I'll just take the average of both and say around 13 lbs.
Maternity clothes:  Yes.
Stretch marks: "Left over" ones from Ayla around the belly button and possibly a few new ones. This belly is already pretty big!
Sleep: Still pretty good although the belly is starting to get in the way.
Best moment in the last week: Ultrasound last Friday. It always amazes me to see how much baby grows in just a couple of weeks.
Movement: More and more flutters. According to the ultrasound the placenta is in the back and the baby is all up front. Once this little guy starts moving a lot I should be able to really feel it.
Gender: I tried to be secretive in the last post for my aunt who did not want to find out until baby is born. However, she clicked on the video not realizing that it was the announcement so now I think it's safe to say......IT'S A BOY!
Ayla's current sibling wish: It's already determined that baby is a boy so we'll just have to let Ayla get used to that idea, regardless of her wish. Hee hee! She did say that baby was a boy twice last Friday before we went for the ultrasound.
Ayla's current name choice when asked "What should we name the baby?": Ayla still says "Six" but that's not the name that we chose. ;)
Food Cravings: Nothing in particular but I am always hungry. I'll feel full after a big meal but it never lasts long!
Belly Button in or out:  It's mostly out now. I honestly think it has to do with how baby is positioned.
What I miss: My waistline. I heard that there is a new H&M store opening at one of the malls in our area and was really excited. I then quickly realized that it will be quite some time before I can even go shopping there. I don't think they have a maternity line of clothes. :(
What I am looking forward to: Can this week be about what I am not looking forward to? Teacher workdays begin on Monday. My summer days with Ayla are coming to an end.
Weekly Wisdom: Sleep is precious. Never wake a pregnant lady. ;)
Milestones: Today marks the halfway mark!
Baby Brain Moment of the Week: At my doctor's appointment last week they had us waiting in a different waiting room than I normally do. We went in and had the ultrasound and afterwards I had my scheduled monthly appointment. We went back into the little waiting room after the ultrasound and waited for my monthly check up. I went in to the monthly check up by myself and afterwards went straight for the exit. I realized I had forgotten about Bryan when I passed the other waiting room. Oopsie!
Labor Signs: Hopefully not until the end of December!
Weekly Belly Pictures:

Just for fun.....a little comparison of both pregnancies at 20 weeks. They say that your belly stretches out more and much quicker the second time. No joke! Maybe I should have done some crunches to tighten up those muscles after Ayla. Ha!
Of course, I have to add a cute picture of Ayla. Hopefully there will be more soon. Aubrey is coming over on Saturday and that always means lots of picture opportunities.

Baby is a....

Mama and Daddy found out today whether or not I am going to have a "baby brother" or a "baby sister". Apparently a "circle" is not one of the options even though that is one of my responses when asked what I want. Ha ha! For those of you who want to know, you can click on the video below of my announcement. For those who want to be surprised when baby is born, you can look at the ultrasound pictures below. Just don't scroll down to the last one because the ultrasound technician took a picture and labeled it. The first 3 are safe to look at. :-)

Everything was great with Mama and baby. All measurements looked good and baby's heartbeat was 148. Oh, and Mama wanted to note that she wrote that she gained 13 lbs. but according to the doctor's office her total weight gain is 10 lbs. She's going with that one. Ha ha! Our scale is a little off anyway.

Watch the video to find out the gender:

Stop scrolling if you don't want to know. :-)
Everyone is very excited....although we would have been either way.

19 Weeks

How far along: 19 weeks
Total Weight gain: 13 lbs.
Maternity clothes:  Yes.
Stretch marks: "Left over" ones from Ayla around the belly button.
Sleep: Still pretty good.
Best moment in the last week: Ayla came up to me on Monday and said she wanted to go take a "belly picture" with me. I love that she takes them with me and really hope that she does every week. It will be nice to not only document my growing belly but also document how much Ayla grows and changes.
Movement: Some random flutters at night time.
Gender: I really don't know...I go back and forth constantly...ultrasound is tomorrow! Stay tuned!
Ayla's current sibling wish: "Baby brother"
Ayla's current name choice when asked "What should we name the baby?": We're back to "Six"
Food Cravings: Ice cream.
Belly Button in or out:  In but the top part is already starting to "pop out".
What I miss: Lazy days all week long. I've been presenting professional development for the district the past two weeks so I've actually had to get into somewhat of a routine on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Of course I miss Ayla when I am gone all day!
What I am looking forward to: Ultrasound tomorrow!
Weekly Wisdom: When you are pregnant people always try to give you "advice" or act like they know the gender of your baby. Random strangers will come  up to me and "tell" me what I'm having...about half have said girl and half have said boy but each one swears that they know.
Milestones: According to one of the weekly websites baby's foot is about an inch in length. I can just picture that cute little foot!
Baby Brain Moment of the Week: Nothing that sticks out. Just general forgetfulness.
Labor Signs: Hopefully not until the end of December!
Weekly Belly Pictures:

Here are some recent pictures of Ayla since I haven't added a blog since last week:
Water bug at the Otto's pool.

Silly girl!

Using her new  "Mickey plate".
She ate all of that food and got more peas!

Smelling the neighborhood flowers.
She probably shouldn't have picked them. Oopsie. :-)
